Staff Accountant

We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join a team in Pasadena, Texas in a fully onsite, Contract to permanent position. This opportunity is ideal for an accounting candidate with 2 to 5 years of experience who is confident handling foundational accounting work and maintaining accurate financial records. The role offers hands-on involvement in daily accounting operations, month-end activities, and account analysis within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting activities by preparing journal entries, updating the general ledger, and ensuring transactions are recorded accurately.
• Perform bank and account reconciliations on a regular basis to identify discrepancies and support clean financial reporting.
• Assist with month-end close by reviewing balances, organizing supporting documentation, and helping finalize reporting deadlines.
• Support both accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice review, payment tracking, and customer account follow-up.
• Apply a strong understanding of debits and credits to analyze financial activity and resolve posting issues effectively.
• Work within Sage Intacct and contribute to accounting processes that may also involve platforms such as Microsoft Dynamics or Great Plains when needed.
• Help maintain organized accounting records and provide support for audits, internal reviews, and reporting requests.
• 2 to 5 years of accounting experience in a staff accountant or similar role.
• Solid knowledge of general ledger accounting, reconciliations, journal entries, and month-end close procedures.
• Practical understanding of core accounting principles, including accurate use of debits and credits.
• Experience supporting accounts payable and accounts receivable functions.
• Familiarity with accounting systems such as Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, or Great Plains is preferred.
• Additional exposure to platforms such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, or SAP is beneficial.
• Ability to work onsite in Pasadena, Texas and manage responsibilities with accuracy and attention to detail.
