Staff Accountant

Robert Half is continuously seeking experienced Staff Accountants for opportunities with growing companies throughout the Birmingham area. We partner with organizations across a variety of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, construction, nonprofit, detail oriented services, and distribution, that are looking for accounting professionals to support their finance teams. Responsibilities Prepare and post journal entries Assist with month-end and year-end close processes Perform account and bank reconciliations Analyze general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies Prepare financial reports and support financial statement preparation Maintain fixed asset schedules and depreciation records Assist with accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as needed Support audits and special projects Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 2+ years of accounting experience preferred Strong understanding of general ledger accounting and reconciliations Experience with month-end close processes Proficiency in Microsoft Excel Experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms is a plus Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
