Original job description

We are looking for an experienced accounting leader to oversee external reporting and audit activities for our U.S. operations in Somerset, New Jersey. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong technical accounting knowledge with a disciplined approach to financial reporting, compliance, and cross-functional coordination. The successful candidate will help ensure accurate financial statements, support complex accounting evaluations, and strengthen policy application across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the preparation of U.S. financial reports, including required disclosures and supporting schedules, while ensuring all documentation is accurate, reconciled, and ready for audit review.
  • Manage the external audit process from planning through completion by coordinating requests, monitoring progress, resolving questions, and maintaining effective communication with auditors and internal stakeholders.
  • Perform technical accounting assessments by researching applicable guidance, analyzing business scenarios, and documenting conclusions related to complex accounting matters, including revenue recognition under ASC 606.
  • Establish and refine accounting policies and interpretive guidance to promote consistent application of U.S. GAAP across reporting activities and evolving business needs.
  • Oversee key close and reporting activities by reviewing reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger support to enhance accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain reporting workpapers, rollforwards, and validation checks that support internal consistency and reduce the risk of rework during review and audit cycles.
  • Partner with finance and operational teams to address accounting issues, improve reporting processes, and support implementation of new accounting requirements when needed.
  • CPA designation required.
  • Strong background in external audit, financial reporting, and U.S. GAAP application.
  • Hands-on experience with technical accounting topics, including ASC 606 and revenue recognition analysis.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of month-end close, general ledger activity, account reconciliations, and journal entry review.
  • Prior experience in public accounting, corporate accounting, or a combination of both.
  • Proven ability to manage audit timelines, organize complex deliverables, and work effectively with external auditors.
  • Excellent analytical, documentation, and communication skills in a fast-paced accounting environment.
