Original job description
We are looking for a senior integration engineer with advanced Workday expertise and a strong foundation in enterprise integration design. This position focuses on building, refining, and resolving complex integrations between Workday and connected business systems. The role calls for a hands-on engineer who can work at the API and payload level, apply sound engineering judgment, and deliver reliable integration outcomes across multiple platforms.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and maintain integrations that connect Workday with enterprise applications using APIs, web services, and workflow tools.
- Examine raw request and response data to identify failures, trace root causes, and implement durable fixes for integration issues.
- Create integration solutions that emphasize validation, predictable processing, resilient error handling, and clear audit visibility.
- Work closely with technical teams to support orchestration approaches involving Microsoft Power Automate and related automation platforms.
- Analyze Workday business process behavior, object relationships, and data dependencies to ensure accurate system interactions.
- Configure secure authentication and integration context settings that protect data and support reliable connectivity across systems.
- Build and enhance interfaces that respect system-of-record rules while enabling external platforms to coordinate downstream actions.
- Document technical designs, troubleshooting findings, and implementation decisions to support maintainability and operational readiness.
- At least 4 years of hands-on experience building and supporting Workday integrations in enterprise environments.
- Strong command of Workday APIs, web services, data structures, and business process-driven integration behavior.
- Demonstrated ability to inspect and modify raw integration requests or responses to resolve technical issues.
- Solid understanding of integration engineering concepts such as validation controls, sequencing, observability, retry logic, and fault handling.
- Experience working with automation and orchestration tools, including Microsoft Power Automate or comparable platforms.
- Practical knowledge of authentication, security, and connectivity considerations for system-to-system integrations.
- Ability to troubleshoot beyond configuration layers and debug issues directly at the payload, transaction, or service level.
