This position is ideal for a detail-oriented finance specialist who enjoys working through complex payables activity, maintaining accurate records, and partnering across departments to support daily accounting operations. The role offers the opportunity to contribute to month-end close, vendor documentation, and inventory-related payables in a fast-paced environment where accuracy and follow-through are essential.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee inventory-related accounts payable activity by monitoring goods in transit, tracking shipment timing, and matching deposits or prepayments against final supplier invoices.
- Review outstanding payables and unapplied cash items to improve record accuracy and help resolve open transactions promptly.
- Record financial activity with a high level of precision and ensure entries are posted within required timelines.
- Support month-end close by preparing schedules, assisting with reconciliations, and helping complete accounting deliverables on time.
- Partner with accounting leadership on balance sheet reconciliations and follow up on discrepancies until resolved.
- Maintain organized financial documentation, including vendor tax forms, credit memos, debit memos, and other supporting records for audit and business needs.
- Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to answer questions, obtain documentation, and keep transactions moving efficiently.
- Process or coordinate international payment activity, including wire transfers, while following internal controls and documentation standards.
- At least 3 years of experience in accounts payable or a strong accounting foundation through recent academic and entry-level experience.
- Advanced Excel capabilities, including the ability to work with pivot tables and lookup formulas.
- Hands-on experience with accounting systems; NetSuite exposure is strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with international wire payments and related documentation requirements.
- Solid analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy.
- Dependable work ethic with the ability to work independently, collaborate with a team, and adjust to changing business needs.
- Experience supporting general ledger activity, journal entries, or tax-related accounting processes is a plus.
