Responsibilities:
- Prepare and evaluate financial statements, supporting schedules, and detailed work papers to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Lead key aspects of the monthly and quarterly close process, including complex journal entries, accruals, reconciliations, and variance analysis.
- Interpret contracts and other legal documentation to determine proper accounting treatment for transactions and document conclusions when needed.
- Support consolidated and intercompany reporting activities, along with recurring and ad hoc reporting requirements for management and stakeholders.
- Partner with external auditors by assembling requested documentation and assisting with interim and annual audit procedures.
- Maintain general ledger integrity by recording cash activity, reviewing account balances, and resolving discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Oversee accounts payable-related processes by monitoring exceptions, supporting vendor inquiries, reviewing reconciliations, and helping maintain compliant documentation for invoices and payments.
- Contribute to budget preparation, special projects, policy development, and cross-functional initiatives with teams such as operations, asset management, and corporate accounting.
- Provide guidance on delegated tasks, assist with onboarding and training for AP-related activities, and serve as backup support for department responsibilities.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting is required.
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, including corporate accounting, financial reporting, or a closely related environment.
- Strong knowledge of month-end close, general ledger accounting, accruals, reconciliations, and financial statement preparation.
- Experience applying GAAP, internal controls, and accounting analysis to complex or non-routine transactions.
- Ability to review legal and contractual documents and assess their accounting impact.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including advanced Excel skills; experience with Workday or another large-scale cloud ERP is preferred.
- Strong communication, organization, and prioritization skills, with the ability to handle confidential information and meet deadlines.
