About the Opportunity Our client, an established General Contractor, is seeking a motivated, accounting-oriented professional to join its finance team as a Corporate Accountant. This role is ideal for someone who wants to grow beyond traditional accounting and build a broad understanding of both the project and financial sides of a successful construction company. You'll start by learning the company's project administration, project accounting, and compliance processes, becoming proficient in CMiC Cloud and GCPay alongside an experienced project accounting team. As you develop, your responsibilities will expand into corporate accounting, job costing, payment processing, and broader financial and operational functions. The role offers a clear path toward senior-level finance and accounting responsibilities. What You'll Do

  • Project Administration & Compliance: Manage lien waivers, certificates of insurance, contracts, change orders, and payment applications, and serve as the main point of contact for subcontractors on compliance and billing.
  • Project Accounting & Billing: Support subcontractor billing and payment applications, including AIA G702/G703 and sworn statements. Track project costs, commitments, and billings, and assist with AP processing and audit support.
  • Project Operations & Closeout: Coordinate subcontractor closeout documents and job-site services.
  • Growing Accounting Responsibilities: Take on job cost accounting, account reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, WIP and percentage-of-completion support, and audit preparation.
  • Additional Support: Provide backup administrative support, travel and lodging coordination, office operations support, and OSHA reporting assistance.

Who Thrives in This Role You're detail-oriented, analytical, and organized. You learn quickly, take initiative, and can manage multiple priorities. You communicate clearly and are comfortable working with subcontractors, vendors, project managers, owners, and title companies. Compensation & Benefits

  • Salary: $75,000–$95,000 plus discretionary bonus
  • Health Insurance: 100% of employee medical premiums paid by the company, with shared cost for dependent coverage. Life/AD&D insurance is provided. Dental, vision, spouse/dependent coverage, and long-term disability are available. Coverage begins the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees who waive coverage receive $80 per pay period.
  • Retirement: 401(k) with company match and/or profit-sharing at the company's discretion, plus potential ESOP contribution (eligibility and vesting requirements apply)
  • Paid Time Off: 15 days per year for the first four years, 20 days per year after that
  • Holidays: 8 paid company holidays
  • Perks: Covered parking, airport shuttle, and an on-site fitness center at no cost

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • 3+ years of accounting, project accounting, or construction administration experience
  • Experience with AP, AR, billing, reconciliations, job costing, or financial reporting
  • General Contractor experience preferred
  • Working knowledge of construction billing (AIA G702/G703, sworn statements, lien waivers) is a plus
  • Notary Public certification preferred, or willingness to obtain
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Adobe Acrobat; CMiC Cloud, GCPay, and DocuSign experience is a plus
