Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support financial operations for a construction-focused organization in Concord, California. This position plays a key role in period-end reporting, project cost oversight, and maintaining accurate records across multiple entities. The ideal candidate brings strong accounting fundamentals, construction or homebuilding industry knowledge, and the ability to work effectively with both finance and operational teams in a deadline-driven environment.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end and year-end close, financial reporting, WIP schedules, and profit analysis.
• Maintain GAAP-compliant accounting across multiple entities while supporting audits and lender reporting.
• Lead AP/AR activities and oversee project budgets, costs, and forecasting for development and construction projects.
• Partner with operations to track job costs, reimbursements, and project profitability.
• Leverage ERP systems and advanced Excel skills to improve reporting accuracy and efficiency, preferably with Newstar or similar construction/homebuilding software.
• :Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Background in construction, homebuilding, project accounting, or job costing; public accounting experience is a plus.
• Strong communication, organization, and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Experience working in complex accounting environments with multiple entities preferred.
• Familiarity with Newstar or similar construction ERP systems and knowledge of development cost tracking/reporting is a plus.
