Sr. Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support the corporate accounting team in the machinery manufacturing industry. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who can maintain accurate financial records, strengthen reporting processes, and contribute to a smooth month-end close cycle. The role requires a hands-on accounting background and the ability to work effectively in an on-site environment while partnering with internal stakeholders on core financial activities.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely resolution of outstanding items.
• Manage month-end accounting activities, including posting reclassification entries and supporting an efficient close process.
• Analyze employee expense activity through Concur, identify discrepancies, and provide reporting that supports informed financial decisions.
• Produce utilization and related financial reports for leadership, highlighting trends and variances as needed.
• Maintain general ledger accuracy by recording journal entries and validating supporting documentation.
• Perform bank reconciliations and investigate differences to keep cash accounts aligned with recorded balances.
• Collaborate with the broader accounting function to address day-to-day corporate accounting needs and reporting priorities.
• Support an on-site work schedule, initially five days per week and transitioning to four days per week as needed by the business.
• Demonstrated experience in senior-level accounting roles with strong exposure to corporate accounting functions.
• Solid knowledge of month-end close procedures, general ledger maintenance, and journal entry preparation.
• Proven ability to complete account and bank reconciliations with a high degree of accuracy.
• Experience using Concur for expense reporting review, analysis, and related accounting support.
• Working knowledge of SAP Business One (SAP B1) in an accounting environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and identify variances or inconsistencies.
• Effective communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in an on-site setting.
