Sr. Accountant

We are looking for a Sr. Accountant to join a media organization in Charlotte, North Carolina on a Contract basis for approximately 2-3 months. This role is designed to provide immediate accounting support during a busy period, with a strong focus on maintaining accurate financial records and keeping close processes on track. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience in core accounting operations and can step in quickly to contribute with minimal ramp-up time.

Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end close activities to help ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
• Prepare and post journal entries while maintaining proper supporting documentation.
• Maintain the general ledger by reviewing transactions and resolving discrepancies.
• Perform account reconciliations to verify balances and investigate outstanding items.
• Complete bank reconciliations and follow up on variances to ensure accuracy of cash records.
• Support day-to-day accounting operations by assisting the team with high-volume workload as needed.
• Proven experience working in a senior-level accounting role.
• Strong knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger accounting.
• Hands-on ability to prepare journal entries and complete reconciliations accurately.
• Experience performing bank reconciliations and identifying discrepancies.
• Ability to work independently and contribute effectively in a short-term Contract assignment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
