Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Senior Accountant to support core general ledger activities and help drive an efficient monthly close process. This role is ideal for a hands-on, detail-oriented accounting specialist who can quickly contribute in a fast-paced environment, manage high-volume transactional work with accuracy, and maintain strong control over reconciliations and financial reporting. The position follows a hybrid schedule with regular in-office collaboration.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead assigned general ledger activities and contribute to the timely completion of each monthly close cycle.
  • Prepare and record a high volume of journal entries, ensuring accuracy, proper support, and compliance with accounting policies.
  • Develop and post accruals while monitoring balances for completeness and reasonableness.
  • Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve outstanding items promptly.
  • Maintain fixed asset records, including additions, disposals, depreciation activity, and related reconciliations.
  • Complete bank reconciliations and verify cash-related activity against supporting documentation.
  • Support the preparation of profit and loss statements, balance sheet reporting, and cash flow analysis.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to improve close efficiency and provide reliable financial information for decision-making.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience with strong exposure to general ledger work and month-end close.
  • Demonstrated ability to step into a fast-paced close environment and contribute with minimal ramp-up time.
  • Experience preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations in a high-volume setting.
  • Working knowledge of bank reconciliations and fixed asset accounting.
  • Familiarity with financial statement components, including income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to manage deadlines effectively.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and spreadsheets used for reconciliations and reporting.
