Software Engineer

We are looking for a Software Engineer to join our team in Jacksonville, Florida in a contract capacity with the potential for a permanent role. In this role, you will build and support integration-focused systems that connect internal platforms with external business partners while helping improve reliability, visibility, and day-to-day operational performance. This opportunity is ideal for someone who combines hands-on development experience with strong troubleshooting skills and a practical understanding of data exchange environments.

Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain applications and integration solutions that support the movement of data across internal systems and external partner platforms.
• Provide ongoing support for MultiValue database environments, including administration, performance monitoring, issue resolution, and system upkeep.
• Partner with business users and stakeholders to evaluate existing workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend technology-driven improvements.
• Create and enhance reporting solutions that increase operational visibility and help teams track service performance more effectively.
• Follow established software development lifecycle practices to deliver tested, reliable, and maintainable application enhancements.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams on technical initiatives involving software, infrastructure, networking, and data integration needs.
• Develop and maintain EDI mappings using third-party tools, while also building custom alerts, scripts, and reports to support business operations.
• Assist with the installation, configuration, maintenance, and support of systems that enable efficient information exchange across the organization.
• 3+ years of software engineering or programmer/analyst experience, including work related to system integration or data exchange solutions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience working with MultiValue platforms such as Universe, Unidata, or similar database environments.
• Proficiency in UniVerse, UniBasic, SQL, and Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) concepts, standards, and support processes.
• Familiarity with relational databases, reporting tools, and querying platforms such as Oracle.
• Working knowledge of .NET-based web application support and development is preferred.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a team-oriented environment.
• Experience in transportation, logistics, warehouse management, or other transaction-heavy operational environments is highly valued.
