Server and Storage Engineer

We are looking for an experienced Server and Storage Engineer to support and enhance enterprise infrastructure operations for our Minneapolis client. This position focuses on maintaining reliable server, storage, virtualization, and backup environments while strengthening performance visibility across critical systems. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and the ability to help modernize infrastructure with cloud-aligned technologies.

Responsibilities:

• Manage and optimize enterprise server and storage platforms to ensure high availability, resilience, and consistent performance across the environment.
• Administer NetApp storage solutions and VMware infrastructure, including configuration, capacity planning, maintenance, and operational support.
• Oversee backup and recovery processes for business-critical systems, validating data protection strategies and recovery readiness.
• Use monitoring and observability platforms such as Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic to identify issues, analyze trends, and improve system health.
• Support core Microsoft infrastructure, including Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, and Exchange services.
• Maintain and improve virtualized environments and related infrastructure components to meet security, performance, and scalability requirements.
• Collaborate with cross-functional technology teams on infrastructure improvements, cloud-related initiatives, and long-term platform strategy.
• Troubleshoot complex server, storage, and connectivity issues, driving timely resolution and minimizing operational disruption.
• 10+ years of hands-on experience supporting enterprise server, storage, and infrastructure environments.
• Strong expertise with NetApp storage technologies and VMware virtualization platforms.
• Practical experience with enterprise backup systems and storage management in complex production settings.
• Proficiency with observability and monitoring tools such as Dynatrace, Datadog, or New Relic.
• Solid administration background in Microsoft Windows Server and Active Directory environments.
• Broad knowledge of infrastructure management, server administration, and virtualization best practices.
