The successful candidate will bring strong technical knowledge, discretion, and a commitment to payroll accuracy and compliance.
What You’ll Do:

- Review timekeeping records, overtime, paid leave, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Research and resolve pay discrepancies, retroactive payments, and payroll corrections.
- Reconcile payroll registers and validate deductions, taxes, and employer contributions.
- Support payroll tax filings, quarter-end reconciliations, and year-end activities, including W-2 preparation.
- Maintain employee payroll records and ensure changes are processed with appropriate authorization.
- Partner with HR and Finance on new hires, terminations, leave activity, and employee status changes.
- Respond to payroll questions and explain pay calculations or deductions clearly.
- Assist with payroll audits and compliance with applicable federal, state, and local requirements.
- Identify recurring errors and recommend improvements to payroll controls and workflows.
- 4+ years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
- Experience with multi-state payroll and complex timekeeping scenarios.
- Proficiency in Excel and a major payroll platform such as ADP, UKG, Dayforce, or Workday.
- Strong understanding of payroll taxes, wage-and-hour requirements, and payroll reconciliations.
- Excellent analytical skills and careful handling of confidential information.
- Ability to manage deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
- CPP certification or equivalent advanced payroll training is a plus.
