Senior iSeries Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior iSeries Systems Engineer to manage, maintain, and enhance a multi-server, multi-partitioned IBM i / iSeries environment (Power9 and Power10). This individual will serve as a technical subject matter expert, overseeing system administration, OS upgrades, patching, security, performance, replication, and enterprise application support.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with IBM i / iSeries administration, RPG, CL, and SQL programming, backups, performance tuning, PTF management, and hardware and OS administration. Experience with Infor M3 is highly desirable. This role also requires technical leadership, project ownership, vendor coordination, troubleshooting, and the ability to train end users and support staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer and support a multi-server, multi-partitioned IBM i / iSeries environment.
• Monitor and manage system backups, recovery, performance tuning, and replication.
• Provide RPG, CL, and SQL programming support.
• Manage PTFs, patches, system security, hardware, and operating system upgrades.
• Oversee application versions, system environments, fixes, and grids.
• Coordinate technical issues and support requests with IBM and Infor.
• Support Infor products, applications, and utilities, including training end users and technical staff.
• Lead technical projects involving upgrades, enhancements, patching, and new technology implementations.
• Own complex technical issues across multiple systems and technologies.
• Facilitate change management and ensure projects meet deadlines and established objectives.
• Research and implement system administration best practices, tools, and process improvements.
• Provide technical guidance and support to associates and internal teams.

Required Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience administering IBM i / iSeries environments.
• Experience supporting multi-server and multi-partitioned systems.
• Knowledge of RPG, CL, and SQL programming.
• Experience with backups, performance monitoring, replication, PTF management, security, hardware, and OS administration.
• Experience coordinating technical issues with external vendors.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to lead technical initiatives, manage change, and train end users and support teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Senior-level IBM i / iSeries administration experience, particularly Power9 and Power10.
• Experience with the Infor M3 ecosystem, including LCM, Infor OS, H5, SmartOffice, applications, and utilities.
• Experience leading system upgrades, patching, enhancements, and implementations.
• Relevant technical education, certifications, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Experience driving continuous improvement and implementing system administration best practices.
