Responsibilities:

  • Create high-quality external communications materials, including press announcements, media outreach messages, executive talking points, and feature content tailored to target audiences.
  • Build and maintain productive relationships with journalists, industry contacts, and community stakeholders to generate meaningful media coverage and brand engagement.
  • Identify story opportunities and proactively pitch relevant narratives that align with business objectives, market developments, and organizational milestones.
  • Partner with internal leaders and cross-functional teams to ensure messaging is accurate, consistent, and aligned with broader communications goals.
  • Manage several communications initiatives at once, balancing shifting priorities and tight timelines while maintaining a high standard of quality and accuracy.
  • Represent the organization at industry gatherings, community events, and occasional domestic or international engagements as needed to support public-facing efforts.
  • Monitor media activity and public sentiment, providing recommendations that help refine outreach strategies and strengthen overall communications effectiveness.
  • At least 7 years of experience in corporate communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably within aerospace, defense, heavy manufacturing, or a comparable B2B environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated success writing press releases, media pitches, executive communications, and long-form articles with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong knowledge of AP Style and the ability to deliver accurate, error-free written materials.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented setting.
  • Comfortable working on-site five days per week in Torrance, California.
  • Willingness to attend external events and travel occasionally, including possible international travel, to represent the organization.
  • Experience in media relations, story development, and account-facing public relations support is strongly preferred.
