We are looking for an experienced Personal Injury Paralegal to join a plaintiffs' personal injury practice in the Cherry Creek area. This Long-term Contract/Contract-to-hire position will support an Attorney throughout the life of each matter, from client intake and pre-suit preparation through active litigation, settlement, and trial readiness. The role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can manage a high-volume caseload while maintaining compassionate communication with clients and strong coordination across medical providers, insurers, and legal teams.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a portfolio of plaintiff-side personal injury files involving auto accidents, animal attacks, and premises-related claims from opening through final resolution.
- Obtain, monitor, and organize medical records and billing materials, then prepare clear summaries and treatment chronologies for attorney review.
- Compile damages documentation by calculating medical costs, gathering wage loss support, and tracking property-related losses.
- Prepare persuasive settlement demand packages and related correspondence for insurance carriers and adjusters.
- Support litigation activities by drafting case documents such as pleadings, written discovery, subpoenas, and deposition summaries.
- Coordinate the identification and resolution of medical and governmental liens, including efforts to reduce lien amounts during settlement.
- Handle court filing tasks through Colorado e-filing systems and assist with applicable federal filings when needed.
- Maintain accurate case data and deadlines within legal case management platforms, while tracking limitation periods, court dates, and discovery schedules.
- Communicate professionally with clients, healthcare providers, opposing counsel, and insurance representatives, and assist attorneys with deposition and trial preparation.
- At least 3-5+ years of experience working as a Personal Injury Paralegal in a plaintiffs' firm, including exposure to pre-litigation and litigation matters.
- Proven ability to retrieve medical records and create organized medical summaries or chronologies for injury cases.
- Working knowledge of Colorado civil procedure and evidentiary rules relevant to personal injury litigation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and legal case management systems such as FileVine, Clio, Neos, AI tools and/or Litify.
- Strong understanding of insurance claims handling, including motor vehicle, homeowners, and general liability matters.
- Excellent drafting and written communication skills for demands, legal correspondence, and case-related documentation.
- Demonstrated ability to manage a large caseload independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- High level of accuracy, organization, and follow-through when handling filings, calendaring, and case administration.
