The successful candidate will serve as a subject matter expert on payroll tax matters while ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing for a large employee population.

Responsbilities:

Serve as the primary payroll tax resource, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions. Manage and review payroll tax filings, deposits, reconciliations, year-end reporting, and compliance activities, including Forms W-2, state wage reporting, and quarterly tax returns. Research, resolve, and respond to payroll tax notices, agency inquiries, tax registration requirements, and compliance discrepancies in a timely manner. Oversee payroll tax setup and maintenance within payroll systems, ensuring accurate taxation for employee work and residence locations, reciprocal agreements, local taxes, and multi-state withholding requirements. Partner with payroll, HR, finance, and external vendors to identify and resolve payroll tax issues, implement process improvements, and mitigate compliance risks. Support end-to-end payroll processing for a workforce of more than 500 employees, ensuring payroll is processed accurately and on schedule. Review earnings, deductions, garnishments, benefit withholdings, and tax calculations to validate payroll accuracy prior to each payroll cycle. Utilize ADP Workforce Now and Workday to maintain payroll records, validate employee data, troubleshoot payroll tax issues, and support ongoing payroll operations. Perform payroll tax reconciliations between payroll systems, general ledger records, and tax filings to ensure data integrity and audit readiness. Maintain documentation, internal controls, and audit support materials related to payroll tax compliance and payroll operations.
