Payroll Specialist – Multi-State Payroll & Employee Support

Description

A growing professional services organization is looking for a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist who enjoys keeping payroll organized, accurate, and running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who understands the importance of deadlines, enjoys working with employee data, and can confidently troubleshoot payroll discrepancies.

Key Responsibilities:

• Process biweekly payroll for hourly and salaried employees across multiple states.
• Review timecards, PTO, overtime, bonuses, commissions, and employee pay adjustments.
• Maintain accurate payroll records and employee compensation information.
• Research and resolve payroll discrepancies, missed punches, and wage inquiries.
• Assist with payroll tax reporting, garnishments, deductions, and benefit-related changes.
• Reconcile payroll reports and assist with month-end accounting support.
• Partner with HR and accounting regarding onboarding, terminations, and employee changes.

Requirements

• 2–4 years of hands-on payroll processing experience.
• Familiarity with multi-state payroll and applicable wage and hour regulations.
• Experience with ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or similar payroll platforms.
• Strong Excel skills and excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to manage confidential employee information and meet strict deadlines.
