The role requires strong payroll knowledge, comfort working with HR systems, and the ability to provide dependable support to employees and internal stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
- Process end-to-end biweekly payroll for approximately 190 employees while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and adherence to established deadlines.
- Administer payroll activities for employees working in multiple states and ensure proper application of tax withholdings, wage laws, and related regulatory requirements.
- Review payroll data, audit earnings and deductions, and resolve discrepancies before final submission to reduce errors and support smooth processing.
- Coordinate benefit-related payroll changes such as deductions, enrollments, updates, and reconciliations to keep employee records current.
- Maintain payroll records, reporting documentation, and supporting files in accordance with organizational standards and compliance expectations.
- Partner with HR and internal stakeholders to address employee questions related to pay, deductions, time records, and benefits information.
- Support system maintenance and process improvements within payroll platforms, including assisting with updates or changes when needed.
- Prepare payroll reports and provide accurate data to leadership, finance, and other internal teams for planning and reconciliation purposes.
- At least 2 years of payroll experience with responsibility for full-cycle payroll processing.
- Practical knowledge of multi-state payroll regulations, payroll tax requirements, and compliance standards.
- Hands-on experience with payroll systems such as ADP Workforce Now; experience with Paycom is highly valued.
- Background supporting payroll for mid-sized or high-volume employee populations, including experience with larger payroll environments.
- Familiarity with employee benefits administration and how benefit elections and deductions affect payroll processing.
- Strong attention to detail, sound problem-solving ability, and a high level of accuracy when handling sensitive information.
- Exposure to broader HR functions is preferred.
- Certified Payroll designation is a plus.
