We are looking for a Payroll Specialist to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a high-volume workforce in Dallas, Texas. This Contract position requires someone who can manage end-to-end payroll processing across multiple states while maintaining compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. The ideal candidate brings strong attention to detail, experience with large employee populations, and the ability to coordinate payroll and benefits-related activities effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Process full-cycle payroll for a large employee population, ensuring wages, deductions, and tax withholdings are calculated correctly and delivered on schedule.
  • Administer multi-state payroll activities in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including jurisdiction-specific payroll requirements.
  • Review payroll data for accuracy, investigate discrepancies, and resolve issues related to earnings, deductions, taxes, and employee records.
  • Maintain payroll records and supporting documentation while following established controls, confidentiality standards, and audit requirements.
  • Partner with HR, finance, and benefits teams to coordinate benefit deductions, enrollment changes, and other payroll-impacting updates.
  • Use payroll systems such as Paycom and comparable platforms to enter, validate, and manage payroll information efficiently.
  • Support payroll processing for organizations with more than 500 employees, helping ensure consistent service levels during busy payroll cycles.
  • Hands-on experience managing full-cycle payroll from input validation through final processing and post-payroll review.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of multi-state payroll practices and applicable wage, tax, and compliance requirements.
  • Experience processing payroll for employee populations exceeding 500 workers.
  • Proficiency with payroll systems, including Paycom or similar payroll platforms.
  • Working knowledge of benefits administration and how benefit elections affect payroll deductions and reporting.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify discrepancies and maintain accurate payroll records.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams in a deadline-driven environment.
