We are looking for a Payroll Clerk to support accurate and timely payroll operations for a large, multi-location workforce. This position plays an important role in maintaining payroll records, addressing employee questions, and helping the organization meet tax and wage compliance obligations. The ideal candidate brings strong payroll processing experience, sound judgment, and the ability to manage sensitive information with care.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer weekly payroll for approximately 2,700 employees working across multiple sites, ensuring each pay cycle is completed accurately and on schedule.
  • Maintain employee payroll information by reviewing and updating records related to hours, compensation, organizational assignments, and voluntary or required deductions.
  • Monitor payroll activities for adherence to applicable wage laws, tax requirements, and court-ordered deductions, and help resolve issues before processing is finalized.
  • Partner with Paylocity to support payroll tax filing activities and year-end reporting, including preparation processes related to forms such as W-2s and 1099s.
  • Respond to payroll-related questions from employees, investigate discrepancies, and provide clear, thorough follow-up to bring issues to resolution.
  • Coordinate payment adjustments such as direct deposit setup, special payroll runs, and final wage payments for separating employees.
  • Prepare payroll-related reports and summaries for internal review, reconciliations, and audit support as needed.
  • Assist with year-end payroll closeout activities to help ensure records, filings, and employee documentation are completed accurately.
  • Demonstrated experience processing payroll in a high-volume environment, preferably supporting workforces of more than 500 employees.
  • Working knowledge of full-cycle payroll administration, including earnings, deductions, taxes, and reconciliations.
  • Experience handling wage garnishments, direct deposits, final payments, and other specialized payroll transactions.
  • Familiarity with automated payroll systems and the ability to work effectively within platforms such as Paylocity.
  • Solid understanding of payroll compliance requirements, including payroll tax regulations and record accuracy standards.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage confidential information and identify discrepancies quickly.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to assist employees with payroll questions in a detail-focused manner.
