We are looking for a Patient Access Specialist to join a healthcare team in Ohio in a contract position with the potential to become permanent. This opportunity is well suited for someone who enjoys helping people, communicates clearly, and can create a welcoming experience for patients throughout their visit. The role offers a strong entry point into healthcare for candidates who bring customer service strengths, professionalism, and a desire to learn in a busy clinical environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Welcome patients upon arrival, complete the intake process, and confirm appointment details accurately and efficiently.
  • Review insurance information and check eligibility status to support timely access to services.
  • Guide patients to the correct department or service area so they can move through the facility with ease.
  • Support the check-out process by arranging follow-up visits, diagnostic appointments, laboratory services, and other recommended care.
  • Answer patient questions with professionalism and empathy while delivering a positive front-desk experience.
  • Maintain accurate registration and scheduling records in administrative systems and update information as needed.
  • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to help create a smooth and consistent patient journey.
  • Encourage continued engagement with available services by helping patients understand next steps before they leave.
  • At least 3 years of experience in customer-facing, administrative, or patient support work.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of patients.
  • Ability to deliver high-quality customer service in a fast-moving healthcare or office setting.
  • Comfortable learning registration, scheduling, and insurance verification procedures with accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Positive attitude, adaptability, and a dependable approach to daily responsibilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks at once while staying organized and attentive to detail.
  • Previous healthcare experience is helpful but not required for candidates with strong transferable skills and a willingness to learn.
