This is an immediate, long-term contract opportunity offering approximately 20 hours per week with a flexible schedule. Candidates must be able to work on-site Wednesdays and Thursdays, with flexibility on remaining hours and days.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of the accounts payable process, be comfortable working in a high-volume environment, and enjoy investigating and resolving invoice-related issues. This position offers the opportunity to join a collaborative team, with the potential for hours to increase over time based on business needs and candidate preference.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the accounts payable inbox and respond promptly to incoming invoice and vendor correspondence.
  • Examine, assign coding to, and enter vendor invoices using invoice automation tools while maintaining accuracy across multiple entities.
  • Investigate payment variances, duplicate submissions, and invoice exceptions to ensure issues are resolved efficiently.
  • Partner with purchasing and receiving teams to confirm invoice details and address matching discrepancies.
  • Support vendor onboarding activities and keep supplier records current and accurate within company systems.
  • Carry out vendor data cleanup efforts and assist with ongoing master file maintenance projects.
  • Help coordinate weekly payment processing, including check run preparation and review for accuracy.
  • Apply correct general ledger coding and location allocation to invoices based on department and operational needs.
  • Contribute to month-end, year-end, and annual 1099 reporting processes, and maintain organized documentation in document management systems.
  • Assist with accounts payable work tied to system and process updates, including support during upcoming platform implementation activities.
  • Experience working in accounts payable with responsibility for invoice review, coding, and payment support.
  • Strong knowledge of general ledger account coding and invoice allocation across departments or business units.
  • Ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve invoice-related issues with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Familiarity with payment processing activities such as check runs and ACH-related support.
  • Experience using accounting and payables systems, including Great Plains or similar ERP platforms.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel, and comfort working within document management and invoice automation tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage detailed records and prioritize work in a high-volume environment.
