Original job description

We are looking for a Network Engineer to support and enhance connectivity across properties in Orlando, Florida. This position blends hands-on infrastructure work with stakeholder-facing communication, requiring someone who can troubleshoot complex network issues, help shape technical strategy, and coordinate effectively with vendors and internal teams. The ideal candidate brings experience with property technology, core networking hardware, and service delivery in environments where reliable connectivity is critical.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the performance and reliability of network infrastructure, including switches, routers, wireless access points, firewalls, and related connectivity components across assigned properties.
  • Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, telecom, and network service issues, driving incidents through completion and documenting findings for long-term stability.
  • Partner with internet providers, managed service partners, field technicians, and external vendors to address outages, manage escalations, and maintain service continuity.
  • Support the deployment and ongoing operation of connected-property technologies such as smart locks, access control platforms, video intercoms, managed Wi-Fi, package systems, and IoT-enabled devices.
  • Contribute to technical planning by presenting recommendations, communicating status updates to stakeholders, and helping shape infrastructure and connectivity strategies.
  • Coordinate firmware upgrades, security patching, system monitoring, and routine maintenance activities to keep network environments secure and current.
  • Maintain accurate technical records related to network assets, telecom inventory, incidents, configurations, and support activity.
  • Review telecom billing and recurring service charges, investigate discrepancies, and work with providers to resolve account or invoicing issues.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Engineering, Business, or a closely related field.
  • 4–6 years of infrastructure-focused technology experience preferred; candidates with 2 or more years of relevant hands-on experience will also be considered.
  • Working knowledge of network switching, routing, wireless networking, firewalls, LAN/WAN concepts, and TCP/IP.
  • Experience supporting telecommunications and VoIP environments, including troubleshooting connectivity and service delivery issues.
  • Hands-on exposure to smart home or property technology solutions, including IoT-connected systems used in commercial or residential settings.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, communication, and customer-service skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
  • Experience collaborating with vendors, ISPs, MSPs, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical problems and support operational goals.
  • Preferred background in commercial real estate, multifamily housing, property management, hospitality, Yardi, or related PropTech environments.
