Original job description
Are you someone who thrives in a detail-focused environment and takes pride in getting things right the first time? We are partnering with a well-respected healthcare organization seeking a Medical Data Entry Clerk to support the accurate transfer and maintenance of patient and procedure information across multiple electronic medical record (EMR) systems.
This is an independent, behind-the-scenes role that plays a critical part in ensuring patients are properly scheduled and prepared for procedures.
What You'll Do
- Transfer patient information between multiple EMR systems, ensuring accuracy and completeness
- Enter and verify patient demographics, physician orders, insurance information, procedure details, and eligibility documentation
- Review records for completeness and identify missing information that could impact scheduling or insurance pre-certification
- Monitor and manage procedure scheduling and add-on requests through shared email queues
- Maintain accurate records to support providers, clinical staff, and surgical scheduling teams
- Collaborate with internal team members when questions arise, while working independently throughout the day
What Makes This Role Important Accuracy is everything. Missing or incorrect insurance information can delay pre-certifications and procedures, so strong attention to detail is essential. The ideal candidate enjoys focused work, can manage a steady volume of information, and takes ownership of their responsibilities.
Why Consider This Opportunity? This role offers the chance to become an important part of a collaborative healthcare team while enjoying a structured schedule, independent work environment, and meaningful impact on the patient care process behind the scenes.
Apply today if you're a detail-oriented professional who enjoys organization, accuracy, and working independently in a healthcare setting.
What We're Looking For
- Previous medical office, healthcare administration, medical records, scheduling, or medical data entry experience preferred
- Experience working with EMR systems strongly preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail and data accuracy
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain organization in a fast-paced environment
- Strong written communication skills and comfort managing a high volume of emails
- Self-motivated and dependable with the ability to work independently
- Professionalism and strong workplace focus
