Medical Billing Specialist

We are looking for a detail-oriented Medical Billing Specialist to support a Contract assignment in Beaverton, Oregon. This position focuses on accurate billing operations, claims resolution, and coding support within a medical office environment. The ideal candidate brings hands-on experience with government payers and can independently investigate billing issues to help keep reimbursement processes on track.

Responsibilities:

• Process medical billing transactions accurately and efficiently for assigned accounts.
• Enter billing, coding, and claim-related information into AdvancedMD and other relevant systems.
• Review unpaid claims and take timely action to secure resolution and reimbursement.
• Investigate denied claims, identify root causes, and complete appropriate follow-up activities.
• Apply medical coding updates, including assigning codes for newly introduced testing services.
• Work with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare claims in accordance with payer-specific requirements.
• Maintain organized billing documentation and update account records to reflect follow-up activity.
• Experience in medical billing within a healthcare or clinical setting.
• Working knowledge of medical coding principles and insurance claim processing.
• Hands-on experience with Medicare, Medicaid, and Tricare billing procedures.
• Proficiency with AdvancedMD and familiarity with Teleos or similar healthcare software.
• Ability to manage claim follow-up and denial resolution with minimal supervision.
• Strong research skills and sound judgment when analyzing billing discrepancies.
• Background in medical collections, insurance billing, and claims reconciliation.
