Original job description
National AmLaw 100 firm has an immediate opening for an experienced Employment Litigation Paralegal to support its wage and hour practice, including managing discovery, reviewing employment records, and assisting attorneys across multiple defense-side matters. The ideal candidate has at least three years of experience as a paralegal supporting wage and hour matters in a fast-paced, defense-side law firm environment. This is a fully-remote contract position that offers stability and meaningful, ongoing work with one of the country’s leading litigation firms. While there is potential for full-time conversion, the immediate priority is to bring on a skilled paralegal who can provide continuity to the team on a long-term contract basis.

- Assist attorneys with preparing discovery requests and responses, reviewing document productions, and tracking materials received from clients and opposing parties
- Summarize records and organize case information to support factual investigation and litigation strategy
- Assist with drafting pleadings and preparing materials for hearings, depositions, and mediations
- Maintain organized case files and litigation databases across multiple active matters
- Support trial preparation, including exhibits, witness materials, coordination with outside vendors, and live trial support as needed
- Communicate with attorneys, clients, paralegals, and other professional staff to keep matters moving and meet deadlines
- Minimum of 2 years of litigation paralegal experience, including direct experience supporting wage and hour matters
- Defense-side employment litigation experience, preferably in a large law firm setting
- Experience gathering and organizing timekeeping, payroll, and other employment records for discovery
- Strong experience with written discovery, document review, and document production
- Familiarity with California state and federal rules of civil procedure
- Experience supporting deposition, mediation, and trial preparation
- Undergraduate degree and/or an ABA-approved paralegal certificate
- Experience with Summation Pro, Relativity, or comparable litigation support software
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word and Excel

- Interest in and ability to support the litigation team through a long-term, open-ended contract engagement
