We are looking for a dependable L1 IT Technician to deliver first-line technical support for employees across the organization in Pennsylvania. This contract opportunity with potential for a permanent role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving everyday technology issues, supporting users with professionalism, and helping maintain smooth IT operations. In this role, you will handle a range of desktop, account, and access-related requests while contributing to a responsive and service-oriented support environment.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve day-to-day technical issues involving desktops, applications, peripherals, and network access, and route more complex problems to the appropriate support level when needed.
- Administer user access across Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and other business systems, including setting up accounts, resetting credentials, updating group memberships, and managing assigned licenses.
- Prepare equipment and system access for new employees and departing employees by configuring workstations, installing required software, imaging devices, and coordinating hardware deployment or return.
- Record support activity thoroughly within the ticketing platform, ensuring incidents, system details, troubleshooting steps, and final resolutions are accurately documented.
- Provide technical assistance to employees working remotely or in hybrid arrangements by using secure remote support tools to diagnose and resolve issues.
- Guide users on basic technology usage, common troubleshooting steps, and recommended practices to improve their experience and reduce repeat issues.
- Help strengthen internal IT documentation by updating knowledge articles and contributing to clear support procedures for recurring tasks and service requests.
- 1–2 years of experience in a help desk, desktop support, or similar entry-level IT support position.
- Working knowledge of Windows 10 and Windows 11, along with hands-on experience supporting Microsoft Office applications and Microsoft 365 environments.
- Familiarity with Active Directory administration and routine service desk tasks such as password resets, account setup, and user access changes.
- Ability to troubleshoot common hardware, software, and peripheral issues in a structured and efficient manner.
- Basic understanding of networking principles such as IP addressing, connectivity troubleshooting, and general network-related support concepts.
- Strong communication skills with a customer-focused approach to assisting end users.
- Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or a Microsoft desktop support credential are valued but not required.
