Original job description

We are looking for an experienced IT Financial Analyst to join a waste and environmental services organization in Pennsylvania. This contract opportunity with permanent potential is ideal for someone who can bridge technology finance, vendor oversight, and contract administration while helping leaders maintain visibility into IT spending. The role will support budgeting accuracy, financial reporting, and cross-functional coordination with procurement and legal partners in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead analysis of IT expenditures by comparing forecasts, budgets, and actual results to identify trends, gaps, and corrective actions.
  • Review accruals and reconcile financial records to improve accuracy in monthly and periodic technology spend reporting.
  • Partner with procurement stakeholders to monitor purchase requests, vendor quotes, contract terms, and agreement status across the purchasing lifecycle.
  • Coordinate with legal and procurement teams to support contract evaluations, renewal planning, and documentation follow-up for technology vendors.
  • Build and maintain reporting models, reconciliations, and financial tracking tools using advanced spreadsheet capabilities and enterprise systems.
  • Produce clear summaries and dashboards that help stakeholders understand portfolio costs, vendor commitments, and budget performance.
  • Support governance of IT financial data by organizing spend details, contract information, and supporting records for ongoing review.
  • Work with business and technology teams to improve the quality, consistency, and usability of financial and procurement-related data.
  • Use tools such as SQL, SAP, BusinessObjects, and Google Sheets to analyze information and deliver actionable insights for decision-making.
  • 10–12 years of experience in IT financial planning and analysis, technology portfolio finance, procurement operations, or a closely related function.
  • Proven ability to manage budget-to-actual reporting, accrual validation, and variance investigation within an IT spending environment.
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, including vendor agreements, statement or master service contract workflows, and quotation review.
  • Experience working directly with procurement and legal teams on contract review activities and renewal coordination.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, including reconciliation development, variance modeling, and detailed financial analysis.
  • Hands-on experience with financial or procurement platforms such as Oracle, Coupa, SAP, or comparable systems used for spend and contract tracking.
  • Working knowledge of data and reporting tools such as Microsoft SQL, BusinessObjects, business intelligence platforms, and Google Workspace applications.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to manage complex financial details across multiple stakeholders.
