We are looking for an experienced IT Consultant II to guide disaster recovery initiatives for critical business applications in Providence, Rhode Island. This Long-term Contract position will focus on planning, coordination, and execution across recovery onboarding, strategy development, testing, and issue resolution for Tier 0-3 applications. The role is fully remote, with a preference for candidates located near a company office, and requires strong communication skills to work effectively with technical teams and leadership. Success in this position will come from balancing hands-on recovery planning expertise with clear reporting, stakeholder alignment, and cross-functional coordination.
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate disaster recovery reviews with application stakeholders to define recovery approaches, business impact considerations, and support needs across critical systems.
- Create, refine, and validate recovery documentation, including operational runbooks, test materials, formal plans, and post-test summary reports.
- Organize recurring disaster recovery exercises, failover events, and preparedness reviews to confirm application and team readiness.
- Evaluate application interdependencies, recovery time objectives, recovery point objectives, and supporting infrastructure requirements to strengthen recovery strategies.
- Lead follow-up efforts to address identified gaps, assign action items, and monitor remediation progress through completion.
- Contribute to ServiceNow-related implementation activities and support operational workflows tied to disaster recovery governance.
- Prepare dashboards, status summaries, and executive-facing updates that communicate progress, risks, and key performance metrics.
- Partner with infrastructure, cloud, cybersecurity, and enterprise application teams to align recovery planning with broader technology and governance standards.
- 6 to 8 years of experience in disaster recovery, infrastructure resilience, or business continuity within enterprise environments.
- Solid knowledge of recovery testing practices, continuity planning methods, and disaster recovery governance frameworks.
- Experience collaborating with enterprise applications, infrastructure, cloud technology, and cybersecurity teams.
- Ability to analyze dependencies, recovery requirements, and operational risks across complex application landscapes.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present updates to senior stakeholders and executives.
- Familiarity with ServiceNow, Microsoft Azure, and IT governance processes is preferred.
- Proven ability to coordinate multiple workstreams in a remote work environment without field-based responsibilities.
