Original job description

We are looking for an Inventory Analyst to join a logistics-focused team in a contract role with the potential to become permanent. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys turning inventory data into actionable insights while partnering with warehouse and operational teams to strengthen accuracy and efficiency. The role will support day-to-day inventory control, reporting, and process analysis across multiple sites, while also contributing to broader warehouse improvement efforts.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee inventory accuracy across three warehouse facilities by reviewing stock activity, validating records, and addressing variances.
  • Perform detailed discrepancy investigations, identify underlying causes, and coordinate corrective actions to prevent recurring inventory issues.
  • Prepare recurring inventory reports and performance summaries that highlight trends, risks, and opportunities for operational improvement.
  • Maintain alignment between system records and physical inventory levels to support effective purchasing decisions and production planning.
  • Track material status for raw ingredients, packaging supplies, and finished products, including items that are aging, expired, or nearing expiration.
  • Monitor bulk storage inventory levels and communicate changes that may affect supply availability or operational continuity.
  • Coordinate cycle counts, full physical counts, and audit activities to strengthen control over inventory processes.
  • Partner with warehouse, purchasing, production, and quality teams to improve stock accuracy and resolve cross-functional inventory concerns.
  • Analyze workflow and inventory data to recommend process enhancements, develop useful dashboards and KPIs, and document improved operating procedures.
  • Assist with warehouse management system activities such as process mapping, testing, training support, implementation readiness, and ongoing system optimization as a key user.
  • Experience in inventory analysis, logistics, supply chain, warehousing, or a related operational environment.
  • Strong ability to investigate inventory variances, interpret data, and identify practical process improvements.
  • Proficiency in reporting, dashboards, and KPI tracking to support operational and management decisions.
  • Working knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory control practices, and audit or cycle count procedures.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams including warehouse, purchasing, production, and quality.
  • Comfortable supporting system-related initiatives, including testing, documentation, training support, and process alignment.
  • Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities across locations.
