We are looking for an Interim Sales Audit Supervisor to lead sales audit operations for a major retail environment in Irving, Texas. This 12 month Contract position is focused on maintaining the accuracy of sales, inventory, and tender data across store activity while strengthening controls and reporting. The role also partners closely with cross-functional teams to resolve exceptions, improve audit processes, and support large-scale audit system initiatives.
Responsibilities:
- Lead day-to-day sales audit functions, making sure store transactions are accurately matched across point-of-sale, inventory, and financial systems.
- Examine transaction data from retail locations, identify variances, and drive timely resolution for issues involving sales, returns, tenders, and inventory movement.
- Coordinate with offshore support resources to balance workload, uphold service quality, and maintain consistent audit practices.
- Contribute to sales audit platform enhancements and implementation efforts by supporting testing, documentation, process alignment, and rollout activities.
- Track project milestones and help organize user acceptance testing, issue follow-up, and process updates during multi-stage initiatives.
- Interpret high-volume transactional data and prepare analyses that highlight patterns, exceptions, and reconciliation concerns.
- Work with Finance, Accounting, IT, Store Operations, and Loss Prevention teams to protect financial accuracy and reinforce operational compliance.
- Establish and refine audit procedures, internal controls, and workflow improvements that increase efficiency and reduce risk.
- Assist with month-end audit support, account reconciliations, exception review, and related close activities.
- Use advanced Excel capabilities to sort, analyze, and reconcile large datasets efficiently.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of experience in sales audit, retail accounting, revenue reconciliation, or a similar area.
- Previous experience leading or supervising team members in an audit, accounting, or retail operations setting.
- Strong background in reconciling point-of-sale transactions, inventory activity, and financial records.
- Experience working with offshore teams or shared services environments is preferred.
- Hands-on involvement with retail system implementations, upgrades, or process transformation projects.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to manage and analyze large volumes of data.
- Familiarity with Oracle Retail Sales Audit or comparable retail audit platforms is strongly preferred.
