Original job description
An established manufacturing organization is looking for a Human Resources Manager to lead core people operations and support a diverse workforce across production, warehouse, and administrative teams. This role is ideal for an HR leader who is comfortable working directly with operations management, navigating employee relations matters, and developing practical processes that support both employees and business goals. This is a hands-on management opportunity for someone who can move between strategic planning and day-to-day HR issues, particularly in an environment where workforce planning, safety, attendance, and retention are essential.
Responsibilities
- Manage employee relations, performance management, investigations, and corrective action processes.
- Partner with production and warehouse leadership on workforce planning, staffing needs, and retention.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, orientation, and employee separation procedures.
- Maintain HR policies and practices aligned with California employment requirements.
- Coordinate with safety and operations teams on training documentation and workplace policy compliance.
- Support leave administration, accommodations, benefits questions, and employee status changes.
- Review turnover, attendance, staffing, and other HR metrics to identify trends.
- Develop supervisor training on performance feedback, documentation, and employee management.
- Oversee personnel records and HRIS data accuracy.
- Collaborate with payroll on employee changes, timekeeping concerns, and compensation updates.
- Recommend improvements to HR processes, employee communication, and workplace engagement.
- 5+ years of progressive HR experience, including leadership or team management.
- Manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, or other operational workforce experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of California labor regulations and employee relations practices.
- Experience conducting investigations and coaching managers.
- Familiarity with HRIS, payroll platforms, and workforce reporting.
- Excellent judgment, communication, and problem-solving skills.
