Responsibilities:
- Lead the site’s human resources function by partnering closely with operational leaders to align people practices with business objectives.
- Serve as a key advisor on employee relations matters, addressing workplace concerns, supporting fair resolution processes, and fostering a respectful work environment.
- Build strong relationships across the plant to increase HR presence, credibility, and support for leaders and employees.
- Guide the organization through evolving workforce practices and labor model changes by developing thoughtful plans and helping leaders implement them effectively.
- Provide HR leadership within a unionized or union-active setting, including support for labor-related matters and collaboration with management on workforce issues.
- Oversee core HR operations such as onboarding, benefits administration, and HRIS-related processes to ensure a consistent employee experience.
- Interpret and apply employment law requirements relevant to the operation, helping maintain compliance in a highly regulated environment.
- Assess current HR processes and recommend strategic improvements that strengthen policies, protocols, and long-term organizational effectiveness.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- At least 5 years of progressive human resources leadership experience.
- Prior experience in manufacturing is required; food manufacturing is strongly preferred, and experience in another highly regulated industry may also be considered.
- Demonstrated success working in a unionized or union-related environment.
- Solid knowledge of employment law, including Oregon requirements; comparable California employment law experience may also be considered.
- Proven ability to lead strategically, operate effectively through ambiguity, and translate broad goals into actionable plans.
- Strong background in employee relations and building trusted partnerships with site leadership and employees.
