Original job description
Description We are looking for an experienced Human Resources specialist to join a contract position supporting complex employee and manager inquiries in Pennsylvania. This role focuses on resolving advanced HR, payroll, tax, and employee relations matters while helping strengthen service delivery across shared services and partner teams. The ideal candidate brings sound judgment, strong communication skills, and a process-minded approach to improving support operations and knowledge resources.
Responsibilities:
- Resolve complex and escalated HR questions from employees and managers by applying company policies, procedures, and service expectations accurately.
- Address advanced payroll, tax, and employee relations matters, providing clear guidance and timely issue resolution.
- Manage inquiries referred by HR Advisors and follow through to completion while maintaining established service level commitments.
- Investigate non-routine HR concerns that fall outside standard processes and determine appropriate solutions in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
- Contribute to the rollout of new service offerings by supporting project-related activities and partnering with designated teams during implementation phases.
- Enhance departmental knowledge tools and databases so frontline advisors can independently handle a broader range of incoming requests.
- Review current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and recommend practical improvements that increase quality, consistency, and resource effectiveness.
- Work closely with HR Services, HR Business Partners, and related functions to encourage knowledge sharing and alignment across teams.
- Provide day-to-day guidance to entry-level representatives and newly hired team members as needed, including informal training and support.
- Maintain dependable attendance and flexibility to work evenings, weekends, variable hours, and overtime when business needs require it. Requirements • Minimum of 8 years of experience in human resources, including responsibility for complex employee support or shared services work.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret HR policies and apply them to sensitive or escalated situations with sound judgment.
- Strong working knowledge of payroll and tax-related HR issues.
- Experience handling employee relations matters and responding to inquiries within defined service level agreements.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain complex information clearly and professionally.
- Proven background in process improvement, documentation, or maintaining knowledge databases within an HR environment.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional partners, including HR service teams and HR business partners.
- Willingness to support variable schedules, including nights, weekends, and overtime as needed. TalentMatch®
