Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Human Resources (HR) Recruiter to support high-volume driver hiring for a transportation equipment manufacturing operation. This Long-term Contract position requires a hands-on, detail-oriented recruiter who can evaluate applicants thoroughly, coordinate pre-employment steps, and keep the hiring process moving efficiently in a fully onsite environment. The ideal candidate will be comfortable managing candidate screening, compliance-related reviews, interview coordination, and follow-through on employment verification requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage full-cycle recruitment for driver positions, from initial application review through final hiring steps.
  • Assess incoming applications in the applicant tracking system and identify candidates who meet baseline hiring criteria.
  • Examine motor vehicle records, violation history, PSP reports, and inspection details to create candidate scorecards and support hiring decisions.
  • Confirm that applicants meet required driving experience standards before advancing them in the process.
  • Present candidates with relevant experience to terminal leadership and collaborate with managers who may either delegate screening decisions or prefer direct involvement.
  • Coordinate interviews and guide selected applicants through background checks and seven-year employment verification requirements.
  • Schedule required physical examinations and strength testing appointments while tracking completion status.
  • Follow up persistently on outstanding employment verifications and document all updates accurately in the system.
  • Maintain organized recruiting records and ensure each candidate moves through the process in a timely and compliant manner.
  • Experience in full-cycle recruiting, preferably within driver, transportation, logistics, or high-volume hiring environments.
  • Ability to review applicant information carefully and make sound screening decisions based on established hiring criteria.
  • Familiarity with evaluating driving-related compliance records, including motor vehicle reports and related safety documentation.
  • Strong coordination skills for interviews, background screening, testing appointments, and onboarding activities.
  • Experience using applicant tracking systems such as 10street or similar recruiting platforms.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to work closely with hiring managers and candidates throughout the hiring process.
  • Strong organizational skills and persistence in completing employment verifications and maintaining accurate records.
