Original job description
We are looking for an experienced Human Resources Generalist to support a fast-paced healthcare organization in San Francisco, California. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for a highly organized individual who can manage core HR processes across the employee lifecycle while partnering closely with payroll, benefits, recruiting, and broader HR teams. The role will contribute to a consistent employee experience by handling administrative operations, supporting onboarding activities, and helping maintain compliance across HR records and documentation.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate day-to-day HR support for a large employee population, handling transactions related to onboarding, internal movement, pay updates, leave administration, and offboarding activities.
- Serve as a key point of contact for HR-related questions, collaborating with payroll, benefits, talent acquisition, and internal HR partners to resolve issues efficiently.
- Facilitate onboarding activities by organizing orientation logistics, preparing employee identification badges, and assisting with workplace training programs.
- Review staffing requests to confirm business need, compensation alignment, and position details before requisitions move forward in the recruitment process.
- Partner with recruiters to support onboarding workflows, including verification of pre-employment documentation and readiness for new employee processing.
- Evaluate compensation change requests against established pay structures and route exceptions for additional review when needed.
- Audit employee files and new employee records to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to documentation standards.
- Maintain organized personnel records and help uphold retention practices, regulatory requirements, and preparedness for internal or external audits.
- Support HRIS-related administration, including activities connected to Dayforce, to help maintain accurate workforce data and transaction processing.
- 5+ years of experience in human resources, including broad exposure to employee lifecycle administration.
- Demonstrated background in employee relations and HR operations within a complex or high-volume environment.
- Hands-on experience supporting onboarding, benefits-related processes, and general HR administration.
- Proficiency with HRIS platforms; experience with Dayforce is preferred.
- Strong understanding of personnel documentation, compliance standards, and recordkeeping best practices.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain a high level of accuracy.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to work cross-functionally with recruiting, payroll, benefits, and HR teams.
