Original job description

We are looking for an organized Human Resources Assistant to support recruiting and day-to-day HR coordination for a construction and contractor environment. This long-term contract position is ideal for someone who can manage multiple hiring activities, maintain accurate records in UKG, and help create a smooth experience for candidates and internal stakeholders. The role combines administrative HR support with hands-on recruiting coordination, including job postings, interview scheduling, and pre-employment processing.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate recruitment activities by posting openings, identifying potential candidates, and helping move applicants through the hiring process.
  • Manage candidate information and workflow updates within the UKG applicant tracking system to keep records accurate and current.
  • Arrange interviews between applicants and hiring teams, confirming schedules and ensuring all parties have the necessary details.
  • Support pre-employment steps by initiating background checks and tracking completion of required hiring documentation.
  • Assist with onboarding preparation so new hires have the information and materials needed for a successful start.
  • Provide day-to-day HR administrative support, including maintaining organized files and responding to routine employment-related requests.
  • Monitor recruiting progress and help ensure hiring tasks are completed in a timely and thorough manner.
  • At least 3 years of experience in human resources support, recruiting coordination, or a related HR assistant role.
  • Hands-on experience with HRIS platforms and applicant tracking systems, including UKG or similar tools.
  • Working knowledge of candidate sourcing, job advertisement posting, and interview coordination practices.
  • Experience supporting background screening and other pre-employment activities.
  • Familiarity with onboarding processes and general HR administration responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and a detail-focused approach when interacting with candidates and employees.
