Hub Lead

We are looking for an experienced Hub Lead to guide daily warehouse and logistics activity for a growing delivery operation in Illinois. This contract-to-hire opportunity is ideal for someone who can balance hands-on execution with team leadership in a fast-moving hub environment. The person in this role will help keep receiving, sortation, shipping, and dispatch running efficiently while promoting safe, organized, and dependable operations.

Responsibilities:

• Direct day-to-day hub operations across inbound receiving, order sortation, outbound shipping, and dispatch to maintain steady workflow.
• Organize shipment scheduling and load coordination to support on-time deliveries and effective route utilization.
• Use warehouse and logistics systems to monitor inventory movement, track operational activity, and maintain accurate records.
• Coach team members on warehouse procedures, safety expectations, and productivity standards to strengthen overall performance.
• Assign work, set priorities, and follow up on execution to ensure the team meets daily operational goals.
• Review hub processes, identify inefficiencies, and introduce practical improvements that increase output and accuracy.
• Communicate daily performance updates to leadership and respond quickly to operational feedback or changing business needs.
• Carry out assigned procedures and implement operational adjustments directed by management to support hub strategy.
• Experience in warehouse, shipping, receiving, or logistics operations with a solid understanding of distribution workflows.
• Demonstrated leadership ability with experience guiding staff, managing priorities, and maintaining accountability.
• Working knowledge of warehouse management tools and comfort using web-based software applications.
• Ability to work effectively in a high-volume environment while handling multiple tasks and shifting demands.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Good organizational skills, sound judgment, and the ability to solve operational problems efficiently.
• Physical ability to perform demanding warehouse duties, including heavy lifting when needed.
• Exposure to third-party logistics environments is helpful but not required.
