Original job description

We are looking for an experienced Hub Lead to support daily logistics operations. This Long-term Contract position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and can keep dispatch and route activity organized throughout the day. The person in this role will guide frontline dispatch operations, promote safe and efficient workflows, and help ensure packages move through the hub without unnecessary delays.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day hub floor activity and coordinate the work of dispatch team members to keep pickup and delivery operations on schedule.
  • Direct task assignments across the shift, adjust coverage when team members are absent, and maintain steady movement across dispatch waves.
  • Monitor package flow, productivity, and service performance, then share operational metrics with leadership.
  • Provide hands-on coaching to dispatch staff during live operations, especially around routing decisions and issue resolution.
  • Lead regular safety discussions and reinforce operational procedures and workplace compliance expectations.
  • Identify equipment, staffing, or volume challenges early and raise concerns to the appropriate manager for timely support.
  • Support onboarding and training for new team members by demonstrating best practices and setting clear performance expectations.
  • At least 1 year of experience in dispatching or a comparable front-line logistics position.
  • Ability to lead peers, provide direction during active operations, and assist with training new employees.
  • Practical familiarity with dispatch systems and transportation or logistics tools used in daily operations.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy hub environment.
  • Comfortable working on the floor and in the yard, including time spent outdoors as needed.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 25 pounds on an occasional basis.
  • Background in logistics, distribution, shipping coordination, or related transportation support work.
