We are looking for an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for a dynamic workplace in Los Angeles, California. This role will serve as a key partner to employees and leaders by helping maintain compliance, strengthening employee relations, and supporting core HR programs across the organization. The ideal candidate brings practical experience in California employment practices, strong communication skills in both English and Spanish, and the ability to balance administrative detail with hands-on employee support.

Responsibilities:

  • Advise managers and employees on California employment standards, including wage and hour rules, leave requirements, and other applicable state and federal regulations.
  • Help coordinate safety initiatives with operational leaders to reinforce compliance expectations and promote a secure working environment.
  • Oversee workers’ compensation cases, including claim follow-up, return-to-work coordination, and communication with employees, supervisors, and external administrators.
  • Support recruiting activities by assisting with recruitment efforts, onboarding processes, orientation for new team members, and training programs for both hourly and salaried team members.
  • Maintain accurate personnel files and HR documentation while ensuring records are managed in line with company policy and legal standards.
  • Partner with leadership on employee relations matters such as attendance concerns, coaching discussions, disciplinary actions, and performance-related guidance.
  • Assist in rolling out HR policies and help ensure consistent interpretation and application across departments.
  • Contribute to internal audits, compliance reporting, and special HR initiatives as business needs arise.
  • Build positive working relationships across production, operations, and leadership teams to support a strong employee experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent hands-on HR experience.
  • At least 5 years of experience in an HR Generalist or similar human resources role, ideally within manufacturing, distribution, printing, or another industrial setting.
  • Strong working knowledge of California labor law, employment compliance, and established HR best practices.
  • Experience supporting workplace safety efforts and administering workers’ compensation processes.
  • Demonstrated success handling employee relations issues, including investigations, coaching, and conflict resolution.
  • Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English with the ability to communicate effectively across a diverse workforce.
  • Strong organizational ability, sound judgment, and a consistent approach to handling sensitive information confidentially.
  • Proficiency with HRIS platforms and Microsoft Office applications.
