We are looking for an HR Generalist to support a mission-driven organization in Renton, Washington through a Long-term Contract assignment. This role will contribute to a broad range of human resources activities, including hiring coordination, employee support, onboarding, and day-to-day HR operations. The ideal candidate brings a service-oriented mindset, communicates with professionalism, and is comfortable assisting both office and field-based teams. This opportunity is well suited for someone who values community impact and enjoys working across multiple HR functions.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate recruitment activities for administrative and construction-related positions, including interview scheduling, candidate communication, and hiring logistics.
- Prepare employment documentation such as offer letters and onboarding materials, and help organize a smooth first-day experience for new hires.
- Provide day-to-day HR administrative support by responding to employee questions and directing routine inquiries to the appropriate resources.
- Assist with employee relations efforts by maintaining positive communication, supporting engagement initiatives, and helping departments address HR-related needs.
- Support the performance review process through scheduling, document preparation, and participation in meetings in a non-decision-making capacity when needed.
- Explain available benefit programs to employees and new hires, and help communicate compensation details associated with posted positions.
- Maintain accurate personnel records and help ensure HR documentation is organized and compliant with company practices.
- Offer general support across the HR team, including use of systems such as Paycom, safety-related software, and Microsoft Office tools as needed.
- Experience supporting multiple human resources functions, such as recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HR administration.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with employees, candidates, and internal stakeholders at all levels.
- Working knowledge of topics such as benefits administration, compensation practices, compliance, personnel file maintenance, and HR policy support.
- Familiarity with recruitment coordination tasks, including sourcing support, interview scheduling, offer preparation, and onboarding for new employees.
- Capacity to assist with employee performance processes and respond to general employee relations matters with sound judgment and professionalism.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office; prior exposure to HRIS platforms such as Paycom and safety software is helpful but not required.
- Positive, adaptable approach and interest in contributing to a nonprofit or community-focused environment.
