Original job description

We are looking for an HR Generalist to support day-to-day human resources operations for a long-term contract opportunity. This role will contribute to recruiting, onboarding, employee records administration, compliance coordination, and core HR support across the employee lifecycle. The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, and comfortable managing multiple priorities while maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and a detail-oriented approach.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage recruiting logistics by preparing job postings, communicating with applicants, arranging interviews, and coordinating pre-employment and onboarding paperwork.
  • Maintain employee records and HR data, produce routine reports, and help track workforce metrics to support planning and decision-making.
  • Assist with regulatory compliance by organizing required documentation, monitoring key deadlines, and preparing materials for audits and internal reviews.
  • Provide first-line support for employee questions related to policies, benefits, leave, and employment forms, while directing sensitive issues to HR leadership when needed.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding administration, including completion of required forms, exit documentation, benefit notices, and interview coordination.
  • Support performance management activities by monitoring review timelines, distributing evaluation materials, and keeping accurate records.
  • Coordinate training programs by scheduling sessions, documenting attendance, and following up on mandatory course completion.
  • Process approved updates related to compensation, benefits, and leave administration, including workers’ compensation and applicable state or federal leave documentation.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal stakeholders on benefits, background screening, HRIS updates, and other employee lifecycle activities within assigned scope.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Prior experience in human resources is preferred, including entry-level exposure of 0–2 years.
  • Working knowledge of employment regulations at the federal and state level is preferred.
  • Experience supporting multi-site operations or industrial work environments is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel and PowerPoint, is preferred.
  • Strong communication, sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and a service-focused mindset are required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information professionally and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS platforms is preferred; experience with Workday is an advantage.
