Original job description

We are looking for a Grants & Contracts Manager to lead the full administration of grants and contractual agreements for a high-volume nonprofit organization in Seattle, Washington. This role is ideal for someone who is detail oriented and can bring structure to a developing environment, strengthen operational processes, and partner across teams to keep agreements compliant, organized, and on schedule. The position requires someone who is comfortable guiding change, managing complex federal grant activity, and improving how contracts and awards are tracked from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

  • Direct the complete lifecycle of grants and contracts, from initial intake and review through execution, active oversight, renewal, amendment, and closeout.
  • Partner with Program, Finance, Compliance, Legal, IT, and other internal stakeholders to coordinate reviews, maintain alignment, and support timely decision-making.
  • Establish and refine operational frameworks such as standard templates, documented procedures, reporting tools, and a centralized repository for agreements and grant records.
  • Track key milestones, deliverables, staffing commitments, and documentation requirements to ensure deadlines are met and records remain audit-ready.
  • Manage a large portfolio of grant-funded and contractual activity, with particular attention to federal award requirements and compliance expectations.
  • Lead efforts to negotiate revisions and amendments with external funding agencies or county partners when terms, timelines, or deliverables need to be updated.
  • Serve as a driver of change by introducing stronger governance, clearer processes, and more consistent contract management practices in an evolving environment.
  • Support long-term capacity building by identifying opportunities to expand team structure and strengthen shared services capabilities.
  • Contribute to platform or contract management system implementation efforts when needed to improve visibility, consistency, and process control.

The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $120,000 + bonus.
