Responsibilities: • Prepare and maintain grant budgets, financial reports, and supporting schedules to ensure accurate tracking of grant activity.

  • Monitor grant expenditures and funding balances to ensure compliance with grant agreements, donor restrictions, and funding requirements.
  • Reconcile grant-related accounts, general ledger activity, and funding allocations to maintain accurate financial records.
  • Perform month-end and year-end close activities, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial analysis.
  • Track and report on restricted and unrestricted funding sources, ensuring proper accounting treatment and reporting.
  • Prepare financial documentation and schedules to support audits, grant monitoring reviews, and compliance requirements.
  • Review grant agreements, contracts, and funding documentation to ensure adherence to financial and reporting obligations.
  • Partner with program managers and department leaders to monitor spending, forecast funding needs, and address grant-related financial questions.
  • Analyze budget-to-actual variances and provide recommendations to management regarding grant performance and funding utilization.
  • Support internal and external financial reporting requirements related to grant-funded programs.
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards, governmental regulations, and organizational policies.
  • Assist with special projects, process improvements, and other accounting initiatives as needed.

Qualifications: • Experience in nonprofit, grant, or fund accounting.

  • Strong general ledger, account reconciliation, and month-end close experience.
  • Knowledge of grant compliance, financial reporting, and audit support.
  • Ability to manage multiple grants and competing deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software systems.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.

Preferred Background: • Experience managing federal, state, local, or privately funded grants.

  • Familiarity with nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting.
