GL Accountant

We are looking for an experienced Sr. Accountant to support core accounting operations for a long-term and fully remote contract. This role focuses on maintaining accurate financial records, managing key close activities, and ensuring balance sheet integrity through detailed reconciliations. The ideal candidate brings strong expertise in general ledger accounting, journal entry preparation, and month-end processes within a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Lead assigned month-end close activities, ensuring deadlines are met and financial data is complete and accurate.
• Prepare and post journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation and accounting treatment.
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts to identify variances, discrepancies, and required adjustments.
• Perform detailed account reconciliations and resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.
• Complete regular bank reconciliations and investigate differences between bank activity and internal records.
• Partner with internal stakeholders to gather financial information needed for reporting and close support.
• Review accounting transactions for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established procedures.
• Assist with process-related accounting tasks and operational changes as needed within the scope of the role.
• Proven experience working as a Senior Accountant or in a similar accounting position.
• Strong hands-on knowledge of month-end close procedures and general ledger management.
• Demonstrated ability to prepare accurate journal entries and supporting reconciliations.
• Experience completing account reconciliations and researching variances independently.
• Solid background in bank reconciliation processes and cash-related accounting activities.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet recurring deadlines in a dynamic environment.
