Original job description

Robert Half Finance & Accounting is partnering with a global private equity firm that is continuing to grow its finance team and is looking to add a Fund Accounting Manager. This is a great opportunity to join a collaborative, high-performing team where you can take ownership of fund-level accounting and reporting while working closely with senior finance leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the review of quarterly and annual fund financial statements, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of fund financial reporting requirements, general ledger structure, and accounting processes.
  • Partner with the finance leadership team to coordinate annual audits and tax filings, working closely with external service providers and addressing technical accounting and tax matters as needed.
  • Monitor fund cash positions, forecast liquidity needs, and assist with cash management activities.
  • Review and oversee capital calls and distributions to limited partners, as well as transactions related to underlying investments.
  • Support regulatory and compliance-related reporting requirements as needed.
  • Serve as a resource to the broader finance team, providing guidance on complex or non-routine accounting and reporting matters.
  • Respond to limited partner inquiries related to financial results and customized reporting requests.
  • Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, streamline workflows, and enhance overall department efficiency.
  • Provide mentorship, coaching, and development to junior accounting team members.
  • Work closely with finance leadership to support department initiatives and broader business objectives.
  • 5+ years of experience in public accounting, fund accounting, or a combination of both.
  • Candidates coming directly from public accounting at the Manager or Senior Manager level are encouraged to apply.
  • CPA license required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Business, Economics, or a related field. Strong academic performance is a plus.
  • Experience with private equity, alternative investments, or investment management is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and is comfortable taking ownership of their work.
