Original job description

We are looking for a Financial Analyst to support manufacturing finance through insightful analysis, practical reporting, and strong cross-functional collaboration. This role will help leaders understand operating results, plan future performance, and make sound decisions by turning complex production and cost data into clear financial recommendations. The position is well suited for someone who enjoys working with detailed information while keeping sight of broader business goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Build and refine financial models, forecasting tools, and reporting resources that support manufacturing planning, labor needs, overhead spending, capital investments, and operating performance.
  • Work closely with plant leadership and partner teams to create reporting that highlights results across facilities, products, projects, and overall manufacturing activity.
  • Maintain and enhance recurring dashboards and scorecards that track important measures such as efficiency, output, utilization, quality, safety, productivity, and cost trends.
  • Evaluate labor hours, payroll spending, staffing patterns, and productivity data to identify key drivers and support workforce planning decisions.
  • Contribute to annual budgeting and ongoing forecast cycles by analyzing volume assumptions, operating costs, labor requirements, overhead, and capital plans.
  • Assist with monthly close activities by preparing analyses, investigating variances, and improving processes that strengthen the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
  • Produce regular financial and operational summaries for leadership, including clear explanations of risks, opportunities, and notable performance changes.
  • Review manufacturing overhead and departmental expenses to support cost control efforts and improve forecast reliability across the organization.
  • Support capital planning through business case analysis, return evaluations, project tracking, and follow-up reviews of investment outcomes.
  • Partner with operations, engineering, project management, and accounting teams to translate business activity into actionable financial insight and recommendations.
  • Experience in financial analysis within a manufacturing, industrial, construction, or contractor environment.
  • Strong capability in financial modeling, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Ability to interpret large and complex data sets and convert findings into practical business recommendations.
  • Proficiency in building reports and dashboards that communicate operational and financial performance clearly.
  • Solid understanding of budgeting, monthly close support, expense analysis, and performance reporting.
  • Demonstrated skill in ad hoc analysis and data mining techniques.
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with cross-functional stakeholders and leadership.
