We are looking for a Finance Coordinator to join a team in Austin, Texas on a Contract basis. This role is well suited for someone in finance who can step in quickly, manage transactional accounting activities with accuracy, and keep records organized in a fast-paced environment. The position will focus on receivables support, expense and card reconciliation, vendor data administration, and ongoing cleanup of financial records while partnering across day-to-day accounting operations.
Responsibilities:
- Reconcile corporate card activity and employee reimbursement submissions, ensuring expenses align with company guidelines and are assigned to the correct general ledger accounts.
- Process accounts receivable transactions by applying incoming payments, monitoring cash activity, and maintaining accurate customer account balances.
- Support commercial collections efforts by following up on outstanding invoices, researching payment status, and helping reduce aged receivables.
- Coordinate billing-related tasks, including preparing invoice support, reviewing charges for accuracy, and resolving discrepancies with internal stakeholders.
- Manage vendor setup requests by gathering required tax documentation, validating banking details to reduce fraud risk, and maintaining complete vendor records.
- Review accounts payable and related subledger data to identify duplicate or inactive records, investigate unresolved balances, and improve overall data quality.
- Maintain organized, audit-ready financial documentation and assist with record retention practices across accounting files.
- Use Excel and accounting or expense management platforms independently to analyze transactions, update records, and support daily finance operations with minimal supervision.
- 3–5 years of practical experience in back-office finance, accounting, or a closely related transactional accounting role.
- Hands-on knowledge of accounts receivable processes, including cash application, billing support, and commercial collections.
- Experience reconciling high-volume financial activity such as corporate card transactions, employee expenses, or cash postings.
- Strong Excel skills with the ability to review data, identify discrepancies, and maintain accurate financial records.
- Familiarity with accounting systems and digital expense tools, with the ability to learn new platforms quickly.
- High attention to detail and sound judgment when handling vendor records, coding transactions, and validating financial information.
- Prior experience in a creative agency or media environment is helpful, but not required.
